Friday night excitement, waiting for my son‘s basketball practice to end.

I've noticed for a few weeks now that both cats are super interested in one section of my bookshelf in particular. Staged a very scientific investigation (pull books onto floor, see which one cat wants) and the winner is... Staying Dead, which I have had for years, but is suddenly the most interesting thing ever. *shrug* cats, man....

Really enjoyed this. No surprise since all of Gilman's work I've read so far has been great. Good urban fantasy with an interesting magic system and its implications on modern society. Fun sexual tension, partners/maybe more than partners romance - Sergei and Wren are so cute (pretty sure they would hate me saying that).

Last night we had heavy rain and thunderstorms, today (so far) we've had rain, hail, and snow. Welcome to spring in Canada. I've had a low level headache all day that I'm attributing to the weather, so I'm going to spend the afternoon under a blanket with hot chocolate, danish, and book.

Love this description and it's making me want to visit New York again. I've only been to NYC once and it was in the spring.

Today was that sort of day here. One of the first sunny, warmer days, starting to feel like spring again, and yes, people in the mood to smile at each other.

Feeling the need to head back into genre reads for a bit. Haven't read an urban fantasy in I'm not sure how long and this has been on my tbr for... erm... longer than that...
