“Why, George, she gave you me. And I‘m as good as nuts.”

I read this book as a teenager after inheriting it from my late grandfather, and these two have always stayed with me as a really lovely, wonderful couple. George Burns clearly adored Gracie Allen and wrote this beautiful book about her following her death. A lot of his other books are a bit too jokey for me, but I love this one because of Burns's sincerity. Plus, it's got lots of great radio/TV history.
