This is one of those books that will compel you to read it till the very end. It is the journey that one must take to understand the finesse that Pamuk has created, clearly one of his best works.👍

The narrator reads a book & goes off to find the meaning of life & win his beloved Janan. Slow to start, I was soon immersed in Pamuk's rich, lyrical prose. His sentences are intricate, but so exact they stop you in your tracks. I love the layers of meaning & imperfect characters. He handles big themes - obsessive love, fanaticism, east v west - with recurring motifs (time, angels, buses) & cherishes everyday objects (a recurring theme of his).
The kids are holding a lemonade stand out the front. I'm supervising. #multitasking 😉🍋📖
'Who do you kill when it's the whole population assuming a different guise?' So says 'Mr Owl' at a science convention... which appears to be full of religious fanatics. But I'm not sure exactly what's going on. 🙄 mysterious so far, but I love Pamuk's intricate sentences.
Where to from here? The bottom row is pretty dense ... 😬 #TBRbingo
I'm part-way through this but it's so long since I picked up I'll have to start again 😬 pic: with Todd Hunter painting - can you see the face in it?
