It about a pastor named Dietrich Bonhoffer, and what he went through from the day the war started to the day it ended. Every chapter it would tell you what happened in that year.

I love the history behind world war 2 and all its events, so I got into this book expecting an interesting story. It starts off pretty strong with a cool backstory to the main character but once he starts to grow up it all falls downhill for me. The pacing becomes very slow and most of the information becomes very boring and dragged out. I tried to stick with the book but after a while it became just tiresome, I wouldn't recommend this book.

I don‘t particularly consider myself a mood reader, but maybe I should. I‘ve had this book on my TBR almost exactly a year since picking it up at a school book fair, but today I finally opened it and read it straight through.

It is a fascinating true story of a man who stood by his principles and stayed in Germany to work against Hitler even when he had opportunities to leave and knew staying might cost him everything.

Spring book fair class library book haul! I picked up some of these and my principal donated the others. I'm really excited about a few of the books in this stack, but I'm hoping my students snap them up before I get a chance to read them! Except for the tagged book, I might just take it home with me tonight.
