I have to get through chapter 11 by tomorrow night and I am STRUGGLING. I am terrible at reading books with written dialect and all of the dialogue in this is phonetically written. I have never finished a Mark Twain book in my entire life, this is a serious challenge for me. #studentlife #afamlit

It's amazing how language works and some saying stick around those throughout generations. (from page 120)
I'm such a horrible book club owner. I am only on Chapter 6... It's just been hard to make myself read this book. It's not the books fault by l but for some reason I fear that I might end up hating Zora Neale Hurston and have to put her on my "Do Not Read" list.
#BookishConfession time. I'm don't think I really care for Zora Neale Hurston. I remember having a hard time getting through the first half of Thier Eyes Where Watching God and I haven't been able to pick this one up since reading the first chapter. It's for my book club and we meet on Saturday.

Book #2 for 2017 is Jonah's Gourd Vine by Zora Neale Hurston. This is the second Hurston book that I have read, the first was Their Eyes Were Watching God. I'm not sure what to expect since this is but her most well know work.
