Pickpick

A great book about chess, about war, about beeing human or not. And most of all a book about guilt and friendship. The story takes place in Auschwitz in 1944 where a chess competition is set up and brings some of the players again together in Amsterdam 1962 at a chess championship. How do the former enemies forgive eachother and come to forgiveness, even friendship. Beautiful story with lots of food for thought. Book 5

Aleida Looks good. What's it about? 7y
jhod @Cinfhen @Aleida not a conventional #beachread I suppose! Set in Auschwitz, and then 20 years later, reuniting the prison guard and prisoner. About hope and forgiveness, just finished and would thoroughly recommend. V moving :-) 7y

Cinfhen My aunt has been suggesting this book for awhile...I'm not ready for any Holocaust books at the moment but it's being #stacked ~ thanks for the feedback 😀 7y
