I‘m on a mini vacation that I believe is resulting in my new (rented) home! So ready to call Tennessee my home!! Pictured here is McKay‘s in Knoxville 📚

ravenlee My very favorite used book store! I go with my SIL every time we visit my husband‘s family. 6y

How about a Litsy meetup in Knoxville? @Betty just suggested a donut get together, and although there aren‘t a lot of us in the area, I know there are a few... will you tag anyone you know in the area?

The first weekend date I have available is Saturday September 8th. I‘m thinking The French Market Creperie for an early brunch (not donuts, but beignets and crepes!), then perusing Union Books and maybe a stroll around Market Square?

Soubhiville Any Nashville Littens want to journey over? @britt_brooke @Booksnchill 6y
Soubhiville @mom2bugnbee @HeatherBookNerd I‘m grabbing names from your Parnasus meetup 😊 6y
Soubhiville PS we finally have a contract on our house, so we‘ll be moving at the end of September! This may be the only opportunity I have here! 6y

britt_brooke I wish!! I can barely next it our next Nashville one because of my boys‘ soccer schedule. 😬 6y
britt_brooke Where are you moving, if you don‘t mind me asking? 6y
Soubhiville Back to Austin TX @britt_brooke ❤️ 6y
Betty That‘s a Vols home weekend! I can brave the traffic and parking hassle. @CatLass007 6y
Bklover Will you pleeeeeez have another meetup there next June when I‘m in Knoxville for my annual week with my daughter there? 6y
CatLass007 Sounds like fun! I‘m in if I can find someone to stay with Mom. 6y
Soubhiville @Betty oh yeah, I guess it‘s back to football nonsense land now that school‘s back... will it be bad early in the morning? The restaurant opens at 8, the bookstore at 10... if we had breakfast at 10, we could be out of downtown by 1pm... 6y
Soubhiville @Bklover if I‘m in town! I move back to Austin the end of September. 6y
Laura317 I‘d love to meet up, but Saturdays in September are rough due to UT football games. My husband goes, which means I have no coverage for my kids. Might I suggest a Friday evening or Sunday afternoon? Depending on time of game, I might be able to meet in morning on Saturday. 6y
Soubhiville @Laura317 @Betty @CatLass007 would early Saturday work? Anyone opposed to 9 am? Or Laura is that Saturday not ok for you even that early? I‘m also fine with Friday, but would suggest we stay out of downtown on Friday evening, and maybe do something close to McKays instead, due to traffic. I can‘t do Sunday the 9th. 6y
Soubhiville Saturday the 8th. I‘m not opposed to meeting as early as 8 am when the crepe place opens... 6y
Betty @Soubhiville just let me know where and when. Union Books won‘t be open so early. 6y
CatLass007 I would be driving from Johnson City so 9 AM won‘t work for me. Also, Friday works better than Saturday. It (edited) 6y
Soubhiville Ok, how about Friday September 7th, 6pm, Duck Donuts, then McKay‘s? @Betty @Laura317 @CatLass007 ? Or if we‘d rather have an actual dinner Sitar is a good Indian restaurant close by that‘s usually not too busy... 6y
Betty Fri evening is better! Either Duck or Sitar or some place in the area. @Soubhiville @Laura317 @CatLass007 6y
Laura317 @Betty @Soubhiville @CatLass007 Friday the 7th Sept would work for me. I‘m good with Duck, Sitar, McKays - whatever floats everyone‘s boat! 6y

I‘m in Tennessee for the week for a work-related program and took a stroll through the 1982 World‘s Fair Park after my dinner. So pretty (and so polite). While I‘ll enjoy the down time & quiet evenings, I miss my babies already!

Calling all Knoxville, TN area Littens! Are you close enough to drive to Knoxville? Want to come to a meet up? @Laura317 and I might be starting to plot something... comment if you‘d like updates 😊We haven‘t gotten any farther than an inkling .

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I wish!! I‘m 6 hours away 😐 7y
Laura317 It's really close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge - it could be a vacay destination too! 7y

I'm going to Knoxville for a few days and I just wondered if any of you know of any bookish fun to be had there! Or even a great coffee or tea shop!
#bookishtravel #ilovebookstores

Laura317 McKays is a large used bookstore right off Papermill Road that can be seen from I-40. Coffee shops? Try K-brew on N. Broadway. Best coffee in town. Have fun! If you need other ideas, let me know. 8y
Bklover @Laura317 Yay!!!! Thank you so much! I knew I could count on Littens to find me a used bookstore!!! I will make sure to go to both the bookstore and coffee shop! ❤️❤️❤️ 8y
lycomayflower Seconding McKays. It's huge. Husbeast and I drive down from southwest VA once a year or so (I used to live in Knoxville), and going to McKays is part of the draw. 8y

These are my favorite cookbooks. The one in the left is ALL Christmas cookies from the utility board. The one in the right is the World's Fair cookbook. The bottom is my Mamaw's church cookbook. Well loved and full of her notes. Is is my favorite. #cookbooks

LauraBeth I've come to the cooking conclusion that there is nothing better than an old church cookbook 😀 8y
