This was a quick read. Rajiv was obsessively intent on playing the main character in the Life of Pi. He did just about everything including emailing the author. Sadly, he wasn‘t cast and he left Toronto for Munich where he found peace, love and happiness.

Reading this one - started last night. Will satisfy the #Litsyreadingchallenge too for POC Memoir. I didn‘t realize Rajiv was the rapping mathlete in Mean Girls!

It was ok. He seems like a nice guy. There just wasn't a whole lot of substance here.

#TBRtemptation post! While doing takes on the set of "Mean Girls", Rajiv was given a copy of "Life Of Pi". He was mesmerized by the similarities between him & Pi. So he began training for the film role. He quit college. He traveled to India's stone temples, Maine's coast. He befriended Yann Martel, a priest, a castaway. He learned to spin wool, keep bees, stare a tiger down. Dreamed & failed big, a story of process! #blameLitsy #blameMrBook ?

I was checking out the longlist for Canada Reads and was attracted to the cover design for Surendra's memoir. Turns out there's a cool video showing him creating the chalk image.

Fat Pony and I are so excited to read this memoir from Rajiv Surendra (who I know and love as Kevin G from Mean Girls) about his efforts to play the role of Pi in the film adaptation of Life of Pi.

Thank you @PenguinRandomCa !!

MrBook Great cover! 8y
