Currently listening to this on audiobook (because it's long!, for one thing) and I'm struck by how feminist this story is for the time period in which it is set. I should have guessed by the title, but it's refreshing to see since so many of the books that come out of that era are just the opposite.
#Booktober penultimate day, #BestOfOctober. This hasn't been the best book month of the year. But "best prose of October" goes to Fanny Burney for a chunkster I am still reading (about to start vol. 4/5). It's on the kindle, so no photo. "Most enjoyable read of October" and the only 5-star read of my month goes to the graphic novel adaptation of The Graveyard Book.
