I‘m sharing the prompts for #nonfictionnovember and what I might choose for these prompts.

1. I‘ll probably choose one of my Christian nonfiction books for this one because Christian nonfiction makes me feel uncomfortable.

2. I‘ll probably choose a True Crime book for this one.

3. I haven‘t decided yet. I‘ll have to see if I can find something for this.

4. I‘ll probably read a nonfiction book about something I‘m interested in.

I‘m so excited about Nonfiction November. I participated once a few years ago but didn‘t participate again for some reason. I don‘t remember the exact year I participated but I had so much fun. I like fiction but I also like nonfiction so this event is perfect for me. I know it‘s October but I‘m already starting to think about what I might want to read for this. I‘m going to try to find books to fit the 4 prompts.

Donna_sBookMinute Now this one reminds me of people I've loaned books to and kept them so long that I knew they didn't read them. I don't like to ask for things to be returned to me. But I WILL ask you for my book! 8y
Lizpixie Me too! I try so hard to make my whole extended family into readers and it's so disheartening to ask 3 months later "did you like the book I lent you?" " oh I haven't started it yet" Arggghhh! 8y

Reviewsbylola I remember my mom arguing with my 3rd grade teacher because I was so into the Babysitters Club Little Sister series. My teacher thought I should be reading something more worthwhile but my mom wanted me to enjoy reading and to choose the books that really interested me. 8y
readinginthedark My mom got in trouble for sending me to school with Nightjohn because I lent it to a friend and her mom thought it was too brutal. My mom was just like, "So, you don't want children to know what slavery was really like?" 8y
Lizpixie My mother kept taking my books off me and forcing me to go outside and play with my cousin & sister. So I used to drop books out my bedroom window then climb the paperbark tree in our backyard and sit on this perfect wide, bent branch and read. When it was cold I'd also throw out a blanket! 8y

Lindy @Reviewsbylola Your mom was smart! 8y
Lindy @readinginthedark My mom stood up for reading too. I'm sure it shaped me into the reader I am today and I'm grateful. 😊 8y
Lindy @Lizpixie It makes me smile to hear how resourceful and determined you were about reading! 8y
Lizpixie @Lindy oh yeah, no one came between me and my books! Eventually she gave up trying, so I started putting a blanket on my front lawn and laying in the sun with a book. That's how my hubby first saw me, he lived down the road and knew me as 'that girl always with a book' 8y
readinginthedark @Lizpixie What a fun story to be able to tell now! Your tree sounds cozy. 😊 @Lindy I feel the same way! 8y

I'm at a one-day conference on reading that I helped organize. 200 people excited about the work they do supporting readers, buzzing around me during coffee break...kind of reminds me of the Litsy community. #pagesv

TheCanuckReader Great idea! 8y
