@batsy Here's a closer view of my Robin Hood bookmark, together with a set of a whole band of merry persons 😊 Now all I need is to find a book series focusing on each different member of the band so I can match up the bookmarks as I read 🤓

My only Robin Hood point of reference before the #FairyTaleReadingChallenge was the Disney film version. I enjoyed this novelization of various Robin Hood myths originally published in 1956. I liked the author‘s use of poems and prose written about the characters in past centuries at the start of each chapter. I also really liked that Maid Marian was a badass. Overall the stories were a tad violent for my taste, but I‘m glad I read it. @Charityann

A firm favourite from my childhood. As an adult I liked reading the author‘s note explaining how he put together the retelling. Now I want to read Ivanhoe again!

This retelling was honestly pretty boring, the entire middle portion was basically the same chapter over and over again just with Robin coming across a new person. I love the tales of Robin Hood but there was just no life in this version, it was bland and boring.

This book was mostly a collection of short stories that were based on interpretations of older writings. It was fun and entertaining, but I felt a lacking from the format that made it hard to really get into a good flow of the story

I finished a reread of the Adventures of Robin Hood last night. It‘s a short enough read and it always feels exciting to read about places I know and live. I‘m afraid it didn‘t lift my slump though... I picked up the Hobbit for a reread but have found it hard to sit down and start it (my little one is poorly). I've honestly never seen an #UmaThurman movie, but she was in the 1991 version of Robin Hood, and I'm always up for a Robin Hood adaptation. #LyricalApril
