An incredibly detailed, exhaustive (some might say exhausting) account of the events of Nov. 22-25, 1963, beginning a few hours before JFK's assassination and concluding with the funerals of Kennedy and Lee Harvey Oswald. I'm super impressed with how much information and details Bugliosi managed to track down, although I winced each time he interjected a personal aside. Thankfully it doesn't happen often -- but it's a bit jarring when he does.

A comprehensive narrative starting the day of JFK's assassination and including the following three days. Bugliosi leaves no detail out. It was a draining and long read, but in a good way. It felt like the ending was a bit abrupt. Bugliosi ended with the funerals of JFK, Oswald, and Tippit. Meanwhile not much was said about Ruby after his arrest and I would also have loved an epilogue. But it had to end somewhere, considering it was 500+ pages!

#currentlyreading #photoadaynov16 I typically have four books going at a time. One print book--right now it is Parkland, about the assassination of JFK, which I cannot put down!! One ebook--right now it is Fire Angels, a #netgalley find. I am not far into it yet but the writing is great and I am enjoying it. And two serials--currently Anna K (only two issues left! 🎉🎉) and The Jungle. Not a fan of the former but thoroughly enjoying the latter.

This is probably going to be a slower read for me and I am bummed I wasn't reading it three days ago in the actual anniversary but I am already so engrossed. Bugliosi may be even better at story telling than prosecuting, if that's possible. The book starts off on a timeline of the day of the assassination and no person involved is too minor to be included. It's the small details that always fascinate me in non fic.
