I thought I had the plot figured out while reading this book when everything suddenly takes a turn I did not expect and I was really taken by surprise about the change. That pretty much summons up my feeling about this book. That and that Mel Sherratt really knows how to write an intriguing story which pulls you in right from the start. This is, by the way, the first book I have read by Sherratt and I'm looking forward to reading more by her.
Loved this first book into a new crime series. You can check out my full review here https://bytheletterbookreviews.com/2016/10/29/the-girls-next-door-by-mel-sherrat...
This is an excellent start to what I hope is a long series. I love the feeling I get after reading the first book in a truly enthralling new series and I felt it in spades here. Eden is such a relatable character, yes she‘s a cop but she‘s also a mom, sister and aunt just trying to do right by her family. I loved the relationships between her and her coworkers, they have a great and engaging rapport. Full review on www.novelgossip.com
Just my sort of book, fast pace, short chapters, and just enough back story. A police procedural set in the UK. A story about teenagers, secrets, revenge and grief.
My first book by this author but definitely not my last!
