I know I've read this one before, but for the life of me I couldn't remember who the mastermind behind the plan was.
A quick on edge thriller, just as I'd have it from Slaughter.

Honestly, I hated all of the non-recurring characters in this one. They weren‘t even fun to hate. But, Slaughter spins a good yarn, and it‘s always interesting to watch Will Trent unravel a crime with Faith and Amanda. It‘s a low pick, for sure, but still an entertaining addition to the series.
I love that every book in this series has had several laugh out moments. It breaks up the tense scenes.

Series: Will Trent 6.5
While waiting to buy a frozen coke on his way to an undercover job in Macon, Will, a Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) agent, unexpectedly gets involved in a situation that attracts town, county and state police as well as bringing down upon him the wrath of his boss Amanda.
12. Short story in the Will Trent, enjoyable enough. 3/5
“Detective Will Trent is standing in a Georgia convenience store, waiting on an obstinate ICEE frozen-drink machine. To the surveillance cameras and bored staff of the Lil' Dixie Gas-n-Go, however, Will appears to be someone very different - the menacing ex-con Bill Black. Going undercover as Bill, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent is about to infiltrate the most corrupt town in the most corrupt county in the new American South.”

Another novella in the Will Trent series. Like the previous one, this just didn't work for me. Slaughter is great at what she does, but she needs a novel in order to fully flesh out her gift, in my opinion. The shorter works just don't have the same appeal.
