shawnmooney I'm sure this one has also done the rounds umpteen dozen times but I remember once using the men's facilities in a gay bar in London and they had a similar plaque on the wall that read "Joe Orton had sex here." :-) @LeahBergen 8y

LeahBergen Well, they didn't hang a plaque to commemorate it, but I did take a whiz in William Faulkner's toilet while touring Rowan Oak. Hey, is that a "Leah Story"? ? @shawnmooney 8y

LeahBergen And I just had to look up Joe Orton, @shawnmooney . Now I want to look up some of the defaced library book covers that he and Halliwel did! 8y

shawnmooney @LeahBergen Interesting: I read the Orton biography that came out in the mid-80s, I don't remember that particular crazy part of their relationship. It was made into a movie in the 80s actually; I'm not sure when the book was published. I read it the summer I was living, working, and whoring in London. :-) 8y
