Fine conclusion to the Thomas deQuincey trilogy of historical mysteries. Complicated murder which distracted me from thin character development this book. Wanted more for Emily but glad she got some conclusion.

I haul my reading up and down the stairs depending on the time of day....noise canceling headphones are a must ( teenagers like things loud ). Bookmark/postcard for tracking books in January... and reading apps on iPad...#readingequipment #readjanuary
Blogged a bit about my disappointing blogging year. Read many great reads and squee'd about so few. I hope to change that in 2017.
Reading a mystery about a murder on a train while riding the train may not have been my smartest decision :)
My #fridayreads / #weekendreads up against my remaining 2016 TBR. (Other ebooks obviously unseen, le sigh.) What are you reading this weekend?
Starting the 3rd book featuring opium-addict Thomas deQuincey and his charming daughter Emily. Loooooved both previous novels.
Had a bananas week, but read Ruler Of The Night - I have just loved this Victorian trilogy by David Morrell! This is the final book in the trilogy which blends historical fact with fiction and has the infamous opium eater, Thomas De Quincy, as the main character. A great mystery involving murder on trains, hydropathy, international espionage, London politics, stock market, as well as concluding some of Thomas's personal quests for closure.
