(Read this in order to review it for my blog, which has been a challenge because there‘s so much to say and I haven‘t had much time to sit down and write.)

It was written in 1919, so it was surprisingly easy to read, but tons of problematic tropes.

Animal cruelty? ✔
Racism? ✔
Important in the romance novel/Harlequin romance history, but wouldn't recommend for a fun read.
