Welcome to Litsy!

Magical realism is a longtime favorite of mine and Hopkinson is a pro. I especially loved the way she wove together the different storylines in this one creating such a uniquely beautiful and honest tale. Calamity was a perfectly imperfect protagonist. Her character felt so familiar and my heart really went out to her. I give this one 4.5 stars, I only wish we got a little more closure with a couple of the side characters (like Hector and Evelyn).
