Favorite things: rainy mornings, porch reading, coffee, starting a new book, campaign slogans
"May you leave this physical world without any more pain or regrets or unhappiness or remorse or self-doubt or worry and may you let all your trials and troubles and cares pass away. May you simply be at peace."

If you have not yet read Kent Haruf you are missing something truly lovely.
Seems appropriate to be reading On Tyranny whilst sipping from a campaign slogans mug.
Independence Day... I'm declaring independence from chores and committing today to a few of my favorite things: quiet, books, and my guitar.
"...a hockey crowd knows no nuances, only heaven or hell. Seen from the stands, you're either a genius or utterly worthless, never anything in between. An offside is never a matter for doubt; every check is either perfectly clean it deserves a lifetime ban."
It's time to take to the woods!
Such an important look at how our practice at democracy has led to a President Trump in the US and Brexit in the UK. A history of democracy and it's forms as well as steps required to move forward to a better practice of the best of bad governments.
Reread and it held up it's 5 star rating. Kingsolver remains a favorite author of mine.
