Amy Harmon sure has a way with words. The Bird and the Sword is beautifully written and quickly became one of my favorite reads last year. It has fantasy, love, battle, finding and loving oneself. I don't really categorize this book as fantasy..I see it more as romance that has fantasy in it.

I knew I was going to love Six of Crows after reading the summary. It reminded me so much of one of my favorite shows, Leverage. Where 5 thieves come together to beat the bad guys and essentially become the good guys. I know it's not the same premise...but it's a little similar.

Unpopular opinion: I DNF'd this book. I am not a fan of insta-love at all. It's such a cliche that just doesn't work out for me. I do appreciate the diversity within the cast ? but honestly that's about the only good thing about it. If you don't mind insta-love, then give it a shot!

I was pleasantly surprised when I finished this book. And a good type of surprised. I was skeptic at first cause everyone was praising this book, but I can see why. Usually the "hate to love" storyline is overdone and cliche, but Sally Thorne did a great job executing it and not make it sound redundant.

I just finished the 3rd installment of the Dollar series, Hundreds, and though I liked it, I didn't enjoy it as much as the first two. There were lots of repetition but you do learn a little more about Elder and his past which was interesting to read. I'll be continuing on with this series. I have to..especially with the way it ended!
