Enjoying my self care morning off with some illustrated Harry Potter and pumpkin spice coffee in my favorite mug. I was super disappointed when they announced the 4th illustrated book would be delayed, but the good news is it gives me more time to reread the ones I have 😊❤📚⚡

DebinHawaii A little self-care and some Harry Potter is always a good thing. 💜 6y

Finally finished An Absolutely Remarkable thing by Hank Green. I've considered myself a Nerdfighter for over 9 years now, and it's been one of the best communities I've been a part of. I first heard the first chapter during a Project for Awesome event a few years ago, and i've been looking forward to reading it since. It did not disappoint and I highly suggest it.

I was given this gem of a book from a family friend the other day. I dont necessarily believe in this stuff, but i've had so much fun going through it.

Homegoing: A novel | Yaa Gyasi
post image

#Homegoing by #YaaGyasi was one of the most beautiful books i've ever read. The way historical racism plays a part in each characters lives helps me understand historical trauma in a way I think will change my life and give me a better understanding of racism going forward. Also, reading this was made better with my handmade bookmark given to me by a friend from Colorado, bought from a store that employs women fleeing domestic violence.

The Glass Castle: A Memoir | Jeannette Walls

Pickpick

I loved this book so much, I read it from begining to end in one day. Reading it reminded me of reading Little House on the Prairie, but with more of an adult tone. I will definitely be reading more of Wall's books.

Got to meet Ibram X. Kendi and discuss how to interact with people who don't agree with your views, and he signed my book! He was really amazing and took the time to talk to both my boyfriend and I. One more reason to recommend reading any of his work!

About to see Ibram X. Kendi speak about his newest book describing the history of racist ideas in America and how it's formed our current culture. Also, a very romantic date night

It's been so long since I have had the pleasure of reading a John Green book for the first time. I started and finished this book in one sitting last night, it was beautifully written with equally likeable and unlikable characters. The representation of mental health and how it impacts relationships was so well done, i'm already looking forward to reading it again!
