This is the book I recommend to people just getting started in the scifi genre. It's not techno-babble heavy and is both really funny and really deep at the same time. An overall fantastic story told with scalzi's signature witty style, this is a book I'm going to keep with me for a long time.

This is the first book in a massive collection of fantastic stories. Great characters, great world, and a great plot. Highly recommend if you like scifi, alt history, actual history, or character driven stories.
