Pickpick

I read this after All The Single Ladies to see how the similar topic was approached in 1998. While this one was not so much about history or political power, it was full of terribly interesting interview blurbs around different topics in women's lives. The book's pages provided a sense of community with the women featured as it shined a light on adventures, life paths, relationships and family situations. Positive. Great capture of experiences.

Awesome book! Important story, told with gripping immediacy and emotion. This is the first graphic novel I've read. I told my nephew (age 5) I wanted to just show him a graphic novel about the Civil Rights Movement. He said, "that's OK, Aunt Lucia, I already know what the Civil Rights Movement is." He then confessed that he was just trying to stop me from reading something really long to him. Oops! This is not for little kids anyway.

Made a picture of my overdue library books that were still on the grace period. No fine.

This copy of Men Explain Things to Me is one I requested the library purchase. They added it to their collection promptly. My sister starting reading it yesterday but then I returned it. (Sorry, sister.)

Liking this quote by Henri Cartier-Bresson. Maybe it's a little over the top. Oh well.
