The Way of Kings | Brandon Sanderson

"There are two kinds of people in this world, son. Those who save lives, and those who take lives."
"And what of those who protect and defend? Those who save lives by taking lives?"
"That's like trying to stop a storm by blowing harder. Ridiculous. You can't protect by killing."

I'm finally starting it. Such a big book... But I've heard very good things.

Finally getting into a few of the books I meant to read sometime in primary school. Fortunately, this book is still entertaining as a somewhat older child. My friends assure me it gets more serious in later books, which I am looking forward to!

Reveurs I think I enjoyed it but must've been 5+ years since I read them 6y

"That it will never come again is what makes life so sweet."
This book was pleasant to read, generally, and poetic at times. I did enjoy it, but I found the writing long-winded. More examples are given on a certain point than needed, and while the stories are nice I found myself eager to get to the next subject before the previous was over.

"Take what is offered and that must sometimes be enough."
After I saw the Netflix series and heard there was a book, it was the very next thing I read. I'm glad I did, because there was so much detail that I missed in the show. Although it was centered around Takeshi, the book also showed me the people around him more closely. A long book, which I liked enough to stick through.
