This is my favorite installment in the Oxenburg Princes series! Nikolai is loveable, and Ailsa is completely relatable to a modern day woman. I felt a kinship with both, and it made the story fly by. Entirely enjoyable. Highly recommended! If you want to read a book in this series, this is the one I would tell you to start with. It has the best characters and storyline, keeping the reader engaged throughout the book. 5 STARS!

Wow! There was a LOT of heat packed into this book. I had to take a minute to cool down after each scene, because it was...wow. I would call this an erotic romance, with lots and lots of spice with some romance sprinkled in to make it a little less insta-lust. Even though that's basically what it was. Love came eventually, but not until after many, many pages of...you know.

I loved this book! It was a quick read filed with romance and suspense, and the relationship between Mel and Nate was heartwarming. I finished it with a huge smile on my face. Mel and Nate were an adorable couple! Mel was a sweetheart when it came to Nate's phobia of relationships. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys strong heroines, mythology, and mystery.

I finished this in a few hours. I was supposed to go to sleep a while ago, but I couldn't stop reading. Folks, this is my new favorite book of the year! I loved the humor, the characters, the quirky jokes - especially the The Lucy Show references. I related so much with the main characters, I want to be their friend. Totally have a book crush on Casey, and possibly a girl crush on Natalie. I have finally fallen in book love.

Lana and the Laird | Sabrina York
Mehso-so

I'm of mixed feelings with this book. On the one hand, it was nice to have a conclusion to a wonderful series and to see beloved characters again. On the other hand, I was disappointed in the romance of Lana and Lachlan. I felt myself more interested in the mystery surrounding Lachlan, and I kept wishing for more scenes with Isobel (Lana's 5-year-old niece). When a child steals the show...*Read more on my blog - www.ladywithaquill.com*

Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairy tale, so I was very excited to read this story! It did not disappoint. I thought the world building was done very well, and I could visualize everything clearly. The romance was also nice, developing at a good pace with the story.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fairy tales! It was a wonderful retelling, and it appears to be leading to...*Read more on my blog - www.ladywithaquill.com*

Wow! That's really my first reaction after reading this book, and it happened at the end of just about every chapter. I L-O-V-E-D this book! It should never have ended. I need more. Thankfully there is a second book coming out, so I won't have to wait too long.

I laughed. So much. At least once per chapter but usually more than that. Caity reminded me of myself, and her internal dialogue was...*Read more on my blog - www.ladywithaquill.com*

Avenged | Marnee Blake
Pickpick

This is the much anticipated second book in a series by Marnee Blake! It picks up where the first book left off, only this time following two different characters. The mystery isn't really a mystery anymore, but the story is still action-packed and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

This was a nice romance read, with a lot of interesting secondary elements like mystery and prophecies. I would call it a beach read given the ease of reading it, and the fact that it doesn't take long to finish the book.

I liked the bond between Lillian and Radu. It was a bit insta-love, but when you consider the prophecy involved, perhaps this is done so that it fits well with the idea of a... *Read more on my blog - www.ladywithaquill.com*

One Last Kiss | Ally Broadfield
Pickpick

This was a pleasant read! It was fairly light for most of the book, though the subject matter became more dark as the story progressed. I enjoyed the main characters, since they weren't the typical British hero and heroine. The hero was 100% Russian, and the heroine was 50% British/50% Russian. It was interesting to see a different side of British society in the early 1800s.

I love time travel romance, and this book is no exception! Connie Scharon did a wonderful job describing the scenery, people, and history of the time period. I felt like I was truly there. John and Samantha's love was somewhat "insta-love", but it still rang true in the end.

There are some trigger warnings that should be noted about this book - there is a scene of rape and incest, and there are descriptions of other rape/incest.

Castles in the Clouds was a pleasant read, with interesting historical details and multiple storylines to keep my interest. While Anson and Lark were the main characters, it wasn't hard to get to know the other members of the story. They were all well developed and unique, each having very realistic and relatable stories to tell.

Anson was a real gentleman! I loved his "voice", the way he spoke...*Read more on my blog - www.ladywithaquill.com*

I haven't read any other books by Rhenna Morgan, so it took a bit to fully delve into the world she created in Waking Eden. Once I did though, I was very intrigued by the many layers of mystery in the story, and I was pleasantly surprised by the relationship between the hero and heroine. They grew individually and as a couple, which made the story believable and genuine.

Too Wicked to Kiss | Erica Ridley

This was an engaging book and seemed a bit reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast to me, which I loved. While it is in no way a retelling of that tale, there were many similar elements - reclusive master of the house, a lonely beauty, and a mystery that the beauty needs to solve. If she leaves, all hope is lost.

I enjoyed reading about Evangeline and Gavin! Both had unique personalities, and they... *Read more on my blog - www.ladywithaquill.com*

Kristi Ann Hunter has done it again! This book almost beats her first book, but A Noble Masquerade still holds my heart. This story picks up about halfway through the first book, but we see everything from the perspective of secondary-turned-primary characters - Georgina Hawthorne and Colin McCrae. Their encounters were humorous, and you really do fall in love with Colin right along with Georgina. *Read more on my blog - www.ladywithaquill.com*

I have always adored Charlie Holmberg's books. Every. Single. One. I always think, each time I read her newest book, "There's no way this could better than the last one. It's just not possible." Oh my goodness, what a book! I experienced perhaps every emotion possible while reading this, so much so that I think I need a break and will read one of my usual, go-to-my-happy-place books.
