The truth is that perfect decisions exist only in hindsight; dwelling too long on potential outcomes, and procrastinating in the process, is futile. The real cost of indecision in business is wasted time. That time could have been used failing your way to knowledge that would ultimately help you to succeed.

Wrong Place, Wrong Time | Gillian McAllister

One of the best books I‘ve ever read! Genius. A must read! I cannot say anymore without giving spoilers but this book really is one of the most clever, most engaging novels I‘ve ever had the pleasure to read.

Another quality read by TJR! I think her characterisation is just so good, she creates the best mental pictures and her characters are so likeable.

I do not know I‘ve ever read something so confusing, compelling, enjoyable, thought-provoking and moving as Where the Crawdads Sing. Simply stunning.

A Promised Land | Barack Obama
Mehso-so

I loved this on account of the fact Barack Obama narrates it himself and you can really feel his emotion when sharing some deeply person recounts. I did struggle with the length and listened to this on Audible; I‘d never have stayed with it had I have read the physical book. I‘d recommend to anyone who wants to further their understanding of American politics and those who like the Obamas!

SamAnne And, if you speed up the audio, Barack sounds just like Jordan Peele doing his Barack impression. I ended up having to speed it up--because of the length--despite loving Obama's voice. Well, I also always loved Peele's Obama impression... 😂 😂 😂 I did enjoy his perspective on his career...not sure I will last through 2 other books of his (he's doing a trilogy!!). Love the man, he was always longwinded. 1y
hwallis92 You‘re right there @SamAnne! I also did that with the audio. I found it amusing that Obama did little impressions when quoting others, whether he intended to imitate their accents or not, it amused me! 1y

All Your Perfects | Colleen Hoover
Pickpick

Really enjoyed my first Colleen Hoover book! Likeable characters and a good plot. I do think that more needs to be done regarding trigger warnings on books - nowhere in the blurb or inside cover did it mention the theme and I think some readers could be caught off guard with what is a heart wrenching topic.

Fallen Idols | Neil White
Mehso-so

I enjoyed this. Simple as that. I admit it took me a while to get into it and there is a fair amount of “fluff” - as anticipated in a crime novel. I would have liked a bit more from the two main characters in terms of their relationship but the general plot played out well. If you own it, read it. If you don‘t, I am sure there are better reads out there, but do not be deterred as it is a good read.

I was really excited to read this and be submerged back into the Panem universe. On the whole the book was great and I‘d highly recommend for Hunger Games fans. Sadly I felt the ending totally let it down with a lack of detail presenting a rushed feeling.

Tears of laughter, tears of joy and tears of sorrow were all wept while reading the beautifully written (apart from Jamie Oliver‘s questionable entry) anecdotes of the many contributors. Thank you to our wonderful, honourable NHS! 💙

Not quite as funny as Kay‘s first book but a great quick read that really hammers home the importance of our NHS.

Another excellent read courtesy of Lynda La Plant! I don‘t think this woman can write something I don‘t love! Crime at its best. Really gripping sequel and written with a great pace too. Must read!

Becoming | Michelle Obama
Pickpick

Hands down the best autobiography I‘ve ever experienced and I‘d highly recommend listening to the audiobook version because it is narrated by Michelle Obama herself, and the emotion that comes across from hearing her story through her own voice is really powerful. Straight to number one on my “famous persons dinner” guest list and if I could only be a slice of the woman she is (when I‘m a grown up 😉). Go listen now!

Loved this book! Yet another well-written, gripping read by Lynda La Plante. I can fully recommend her Anna Travis series as a truly excellent example of great crime writing. Widows was a real page-turner for me, especially after the first chapter. On your toes until the final page!
