The Selection | Kiera Cass

I. Loved. This. Book. I know that it is a YA title. But I will always be a teenager at heart. Cass does a wonderful job of telling a story of a compelling love triangle with the invention of a new country and giving the United States a new history. I know I am late to this party (this book was published in 2012) but still find it so great.

Can't wait to get my hands on the next book!

Another wonderful book by Sarah Dale. A great novel with a great tale of childhood friendships while also adding in elements of Nebraska history.

Something Wicked | Sarah Dale

This is such a great read. First book in a seven part series (two published so far with the third out next month) that is sure to captivate. Published by an independent publishing company that is full of potential.

It is about a trio of children that stumble upon a world full of demons and monsters and learn how to fight against them. They are mentored by their old veteran neighbor and his dog Shadow.

Fantastic! Needs more love.

Mehso-so

This book was something else. While I absolutely loved the nod to Scooby Doo with the title and the theme, it was a lot to handle. There was so much going on in this novel that is was so hard for me to follow. It genre hopped all over the place from horror to campy comedy to mystery to romance.

It is definitely an interesting read, but not one I will go back to again. Cantero has delightful ideas which kept me reading until the end.

I am finally getting far enough into this book to really enjoy it. Excited to continue the journey that this story has me on!

Mehso-so

This book was "meh" and took me a year to finish. While the images that Magary paints are unique and fantasical, for me it lacked the ability to captivate. I found myself distracted while reading and never fully able to get engrossed in the text. I wouldn't say it was a complete flop, however, because of the originality of the plot. It was definitely different. And for that alone Magary deserves great props.

Big Little Lies | Liane Moriarty

Pickpick

The book was fast paced and Moriarty does a fantastic job at keeping the reader hooked. Normally, when I read a book that jumps between characters' perspective as well as jumping back and forth in time it gets difficult to follow. But, Moriarty does it beautifuly. Great quick read full of suspense and drama.
