The first book in the series is kind of slow but contains some nice character development and world-building. This book, however, is FABULOUS. A pretty typical fantasy somehow morphs into a feminist, genre-bending, action-packed tale through this second installment in the series. I CAN'T WAIT for the final book in the trilogy. Though I guess I have to wait, because it's released on November 29.
