I am a huge fan of Margaret Atwood, so I went into this expecting beautiful prose and fascinating insights into the nuances that define the human condition. I was definitely not disappointed. There were lots of surprises, but I think that was because the description of the book was so misleading. This book really isn't about food at all. Instead, Atwood created a beautiful commentary of feminism and ownership. I didn't want it to end!
"...she was afraid of losing her shape, spreading out, not being able to contain herself any longer, beginning (that would be worst of all) to talk a lot, to tell everybody, to cry." —The Edible Woman by Margaret Atwood
