A perfect example of too much telling about what is happening instead of showing. A book about a mysterious alien weapon should have been more than this. And then the ending was weird. It went from going crazy to wrapped up nice and neat in a few chapters.

I loved this book. Everyone should read it.

It's not your typical Stephen King book. Set in the 70s, but there's a very obvious Donald Trump-like character rising through the political ranks destined to drive the country to nuclear war. It's a very long, slow trip to the showdown between the somewhat-psychic former coma patient main character and the evil politician. Then when it finally happens it does not go well. Just not my taste. I doubt I'll be rereading this one.
