I am not normally a fan of political thrillers, but this is very much an exception. This thinly disguised story of the assassination of Greek socialist deputy Gregoris Lambrakis had me hooked right from the beginning. There was also a film version which became the first European movie to be nominated for the best picture Oacar (it lost to Midnight Cowboy.) Without a doubt, Z is my pick for best combination of book and movie!
