The Rule of One | Ashley Saunders, Leslie Saunders
Pickpick

The story of twins living, hiding, and running from a government that has outlawed multiple births, written by twins, is very compelling and entertaining. The twins, Mira and Ava, each tell the story and the reader gets to explore the world through each of their eyes and feelings. There is so much they didn't know about their father, that is uncovered as they travel away from dangers and towards rebellion. I'm looking forward to the sequel.

This book was an edge of the seat story. Every time the characters ventured out, my heart raced. The tension of not knowing what the creatures were was terrifying! I have a young child and I can't even imagine taking him on a river trip, blind folded and alone, let alone taking 2 kids, which is exactly why Mallory is a BAMF!

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were flawed yet likeable.

The End We Start From | Megan Hunter
Pickpick

I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley. This story is told in the first person, our narrator is nameless. From her, the narrator, we learn she is about to be a mother, we learn that London is in trouble, and we learn she is stronger than she realizes. This story is about strength and perseverance. I enjoyed it immensely and look forward to adding more of Ms. Hunter's works to my collection.

I received a free e-galley of this book through NetGalley. I loved this story. The story is told by two characters, Rill and Avery, and takes place in two different time periods. It's a story about family, loss, lies, secrets, and hope. This is a work of fiction but is very much influenced by real events.
