I really enjoy reading Stephen King, but I often find myself a bit disappointed with his endings. And sadly this is one that is brilliant all the way through, until the ending. I‘d still recommend it. Especially if you enjoy the unexpected.

I loved this book immediately. I enjoyed the style of writing, the personal voices and the ending was better than superb.
I listened to the audio book, and was captivated by the different voices and how they reflected the characters so well. I was especially pleased to hear Anne Dowd reading. The Testaments picks up the threads of the Handmaids Tale and weaves an ending that is both unexpected and frightening, powerful and oh so wished for. The characters speak for themselves and give an insight into how Gilead came to be, and how it functions.
Unexpectedly good. Although highly recommended, I‘ve often found these recommendations to be a little overblown. This, however, was amazing. Not too long, not too short, a quick, strong and intelligent read that has some excellent characters and fascinating details that create the depth needed in a complex story like this.
