I don‘t want to put this one down! Smart, dark, snatches of humor and action in equal doses.

Taking me longer than I expected to finish this one because I have to stop every few pages to reflect and ponder. An important, illuminating read.

A powerful read. Incredible world-building coupled with thoughtful, interesting characters full of strength, but not without their flaws. Highly recommend.

If you‘ve ever been to sleepaway camp, you can relate to at least some of the experiences here. Brosgol does an excellent job of highlighting the good, the bad and the ugly. Loved this one, and kids are going to love it, too.

I don't know how Shusterman keeps turning out such high quality work! This one is another amazing novel. Compelling story with believable, thoughtful characters. A futuristic setting, but still manages to be relevant to issues today. I can't wait to share it with my students!

About a third through this one. The sister is getting creepier by the second, not sure I want to finish. Gah...

Not my usual fare, but a timely and important read right now. A realistic look at aging and death. So far, smart and accessible.

Read this in two sittings. Amazing memoir for middle-graders! A man born with severe physical deformities chronicles both the emotional and physical challenges that he faced throughout his youth. Told with humor and grace!

Finished this yesterday on 9/11. It was completely engaging, believable and kid-appropriate. Can't wait to share it with my students who were all born after 2001.

This is on the middle schooler's summer reading list, so I'm catching up. Oh, and having a delicious beer. The perfect summer afternoon/evening.
