As a circus novel, I felt it fell a bit short on story, it felt very same same. As a LGBT+ novel, I felt the dynamic between the two main characters could have been stronger, the romance writing felt weaker than it deserved. As a novel it was very hard to wrap my head around the timeline jumping. I've read many books where it's been done superbly, but I felt the jumps were much too sudden and I found myself confused quite often.
