pickI think this is my new comfort book!
This sentence from the author's note sums up the short stories pretty well:
"It is stimulating to live in a society that is not standardized or
mechanized, and is free from monotony. Under such conditions the writer has only
to look out of the window to pick up a character (and thereby a story)"
so-so4.5 stars!
The writing style and the aesthetic was exquisite! Loved the book but contrary to what the blurb states the competition wasn't really explained and neither very engaging. Overall, this is more of a story about the characters.
