All the Star Wars audio books are pretty awesome. They have background sound and Star Wars music and the narrator is always pretty good. This starts off slow but picks up some speed around the middle. It's interesting to see what was going on in the background to the events we already know.

I've been reading this book for a while. I own it so every time I got a book from the library it kind of got put on the back burner. I finally finished it and I'm so glad I did. I loved this book. It's such an interesting fantasy in a modern setting with great characters. I'm excited that Older plans to write more Shadowshaper books and I can't wait to read them.

Finally finished this. Just as good as the first two volumes. I'm so glad that John Lewis shared his story and decided to tell it in graphic novel format. Very happy that this was my first book of 2017.

The Princess Diarist | Carrie Fisher

Pickpick

I've never ready anymore Carrie Fisher's other books but I do love Star Wars and follow her on twitter. It was interesting to see Carrie's memories of filming A New Hope. Most of the book does deal with what she calls her "extended one night stand" with Harrison Ford. She also includes pages from her journals written during that time.

This book is beautiful. The illustrations are amazing. There's not really a storyline, it's just Moana from the view of the ocean. It's a pretty simple book but would be a great one for younger kids who loved the movie.

Get children's book about Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Very simplified but a great way of introducing children to RBG and the Supreme Court.

I've always wanted an in universe history book for Star Wars and this is pretty close. The art is beautiful and it even fills in some of the questions I have about the Star Wars universe.

Good story that bridges the Ahsoka of Clone Wars with the Ahsoka of Rebels. Fills in a little more about the beginnings of the rebellion.

Nice introduction to some of history's more notorious women. I like how the book makes you think of these women are really as bad as history has made them out to be.

Southern Bastards Volume 3: Homecoming | Jason Aaron, Jason Latour, Chris Brunner

I'm a University of Alabama graduate. As much as I love my time in college, I have many issues with so called "southern culture." I love Southern Bastards. I love how it uses the stereotypes just enough to give you the feel of the place. This volume you meet a lot more people around Craw County and it looks like of storyline are going to come together soon. I can't recommend this series enough.

Been putting off reading this but couldn't anymore. John Lewis tells us the story of the Freedom Rides and March on Washington through his eyes. It's not an easy story to read but it is an important one.

I've been enjoying these new canon Star Wars books. I like they they fill in between what we already know. This one was pretty good, not the best but still definitely worth reading. I hope they add a few more books like this in the future.

I like being able to say I've read classics and Serial Reader gives me an easy way to read them without getting over whelmed or bored. I think I like the Serial Reader concept more than some of the stories but reading is reading. And it gives me an easy way to read out of my comfort zone. With this story I found it interesting being based on Burke and Hare but didn't hold me as much as I thought it would.

Really enjoyed this one. I've loved learning about the Romanov family since that Anastasia movie that was my favorite as a kid. The real story is considerably sadder than the movie. This book does a good job of giving an overview of the family.

Tell the story of how John Lewis first became involved in the Civil Rights movement. It tells us about his childhood in Alabama, his first time traveling outside the south, and how he meet Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Lewis is still in congress and still advocating for Civil Right and other important issues. He recently lead a sit in to trying to get congress to speak on gun control. His story is important and I look forward to the next books.
