I wanted to enjoy this more.
I did find some of it upsetting and affecting and redemptive, especially the chapter on infertility. But unfortunately I felt a little cold upon finishing this.

Affecting, endearing and charming in places!
I really enjoyed the exploration of the female friendship. I think lots of women in their twenties or thirties will relate to the themes covered.
Beautifully written. Captures the strange, uncomfortable idiosyncrasies of family dynamics.
The use of language is gorgeous. Evocative but not too showy.
Loved this. If you've any nostalgia or interest in the 1970's music scene, this may appeal. The format is different to what I'm used to but I got on board and I found myself emotionally invested in the main characters!
I enjoyed how the female characters were drawn too. Offering different perspectives of the female experience during the time covered.
It was really a pleasure. You'll most likely wolf it down quickly mind you.
