This book was horrifying. Not because of the 1984 or Brave New World-esque theme, cuz obviously it's been done before, but because of its heroine.

I love Howard's Splintered series and I was excited to read more from her. That said, there's something about RoseBlood that I can't quite put my finger on, but I could never really got into the story. I would be reading a paragraph and realize my mind wandered off to somewhere else, it never managed to grip me for real. It's not a bad book. The setting and the originality within that known tale were good. But it felt like something was missing.
