Pickpick

The fourth installment of the Harry Potter series is a little less deep than the first three. It is chalk-full of action, but the character development is lacking compared to the other books. I enjoyed reading about Harry getting through the challenges and once again defeating Voldemort, and I enjoyed the quirky romantic aspect of it.

DimeryRene Are you rereading the series now? I'm going to start rereading this October!! 7y
MarriedWithHeathens Yes I reread it! Finished a few days after I posted this review lol 7y
MarriedWithHeathens Been in a book slump since then because nothing is as riveting as HP 😭😭 7y

The third book of the Harry Potter series digs even deeper into the wizarding world. Adding yet another important character to the series adds more interest and depth to the main character. The fast paced book pulls the reader in and holds them tight through the entire story. Reading these stories as an adult is even more gratifying than it was when I read them as a child. You catch more details and jokes and it makes it a more satisfying read.

Mehso-so

The fifth book of the Harry Potter book series is my least favorite. Harry Potter turns into a whiny petulant child, acting entitled and ridiculous the entire time. He does not listen to Dumbledore, he makes stupid rash decisions, and doesn't think before he acts. To add to it, Umbridge is awful. I enjoyed the learning and growth that Harry had to experience, and enjoyed the last part of the book where Dumbledore explained things to Harry.

The humour in this book is fantastic. I loved my journey through Harry's second year at Hogwarts. I read the illustrated edition and the addition of images was fantastic. Can't wait to get to the library for book 3!

I read this book for the third (?) time because I am a forever HP fan. At almost thirty years old, surely I wouldn't appreciate it as much, right? Wrong. I enjoyed it MORE now than I ever had! Sucks you in, keeps you reading, just enough humor to make you chuckle. I loved reading it again and catching small details I had never noticed before. Fantastic. A book, and series, everyone should read at least once in their lifetime. Thumbs way up!

DimeryRene Ahhhhhh! I felt the same way reading as an adult for the first time. I thought, "Surely I won't like this as much as everyone else. I'm a grown up." WRONG. 7y
