Wow. Provocative. Evocative. Eyeopening. Heartbreaking. Highly recommend.

Loved The Snow Child, which takes place in early 1900s Alaska - it's a little bit fantastical, a story of relationships and disappointments and joy and sorrow. Highly recommend.
I didn't love this book as much as The Room or Slammerkin but it did improve as it went on. That said, I am still looking very forward to The Wonder.
Such a compelling read - the horrors of war and the uncertainty of life and love, all rendered with fantastic dialogue and cheeky British wit. I would definitely recommend it.
Good read so far - interesting characters and a storyline that is keeping me entertained. Really enjoyed both The Outcast and The Uninvited Guests by the same author.
Even though I was put off by the opening run-on sentence and a narrative that sometimes felt like it was trying too hard to be clever, I did finish The Nest. I don't know that I would recommend it but did appreciate that the ending was not the "happy, wrap things up with a bow" type.
Entertaining book - love that it's written in reverse chronological order!
Enjoying it, especially once I got into the rhythm of the language of the Jamaican characters.
