“Failure is a feeling long before it becomes an actual result. It‘s vulnerability that breeds with self doubt and then is escalated, often deliberately, by fear.”
“Time, as far as my father was concerned, was a gift you gave to other people.”
Saturday feels!! My gratitude is endless for the simple fact that I don‘t have to drive 45 miles to work today. I don‘t have any errands today. I don‘t have anything to get done! I can read a book, drink some tea, eat home made meals, and cuddle with a warm blanket and a soft pillow....ALL DAY! It feels good to be HOME!!
Next up!! I‘m on a end of the year reading mission for some reason. Third book of the month. I‘m usually not this focused, but I like it!!!
Pg. 214 “Why do people marry versions of their controlling mothers? Or absent fathers? To have a shot at righting old wrongs. Fixing things as an adult that hurt you as a child. Maybe it doesn‘t make sense at a surface level, but the subconscious marches to its own beat.” #Welldamn if this isn‘t ONE of the truest statements I‘ve ever read!!! #Ahamoment
I‘ve been seeing so many recommendations on reading this book, I just had to pick it up!
"What's the thing, I ask her, that would make people want to live together? People have to want it, that's all...
To live in a country that's supposed to be the land of the free..."
Amazing...that is all.
This book left me wanting more...great read.
"Waiting for God to rescue you when it was up to you."
"There were people who were born with an inability to be tangled up in dark emotions, in complications..."
I don't know why, but this sentence stood out to me as an ideal character trait to possess.
I finished this book today. It was a good easy read. I felt the beginning was way to drawn out and the ending was rushed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
