There is no such thing as a dead language, only dormant minds.
There is no such thing as a dead language, only dormant minds.
Electricity blackout at my town after a day of rain. There‘s something magical about candlelight compared to the clinical soulless white light from a phone‘s flash.
The ending made me sad, the colonization of a people that did not see disaster coming.
“But at the end of your life, no matter how crowded were its roads and its days, you will have learned what all must learn. And that will be too late for any starting over, too late for anything but regret. So learn it now. No man has ever lived out any life but one, and that one chosen is his own, most of that alone.”
Trying really hard not to put this in my DNF pile. 😑
“If people bring so much courage to this world the world has to kill them to break them, so of course it kills them. The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.”
Got my hot Thai ginger tea & my new fantasy-samurai read from Kindle Unlimited. #bliss
I know I said I would start on Stephen King‘s Sleeping Beauties but I was drawn to Coldheart Canyon instead. This is my first Clive Barker book & I‘m intrigued. It‘s raining cats & dogs outside and I‘m in bed, can‘t ask for anything better now.
A bookstore partially burned down & the owner was getting rid of all the books. Saved these books from the dumpster today. I will have to wrap them up again as they were slight damaged by soot. Saved a few Patricia Cornwell books (the older Kay Scarpetta ones that was good), a few thrillers & some Nora Roberts.
Got Sleeping Beauties at a discounted price yesterday with Elizabeth George‘s The Edge of Nowhere and Clive Barker‘s Coldheart Canyon. More books added to TBR pile!
Getting drawn into the world of Game of Thrones and I‘m loving it.
