The Glass Castle is a book of a young girl maturing and growing as she lives a poor life. She is challenged with neglect, sexual assault, poverty, and abuse. She is a survivor and made it through a very challenging life and gave herself a new path. By moving to New York and becoming a journalist she created many opportunities for herself which led to a column in the newspaper.

She find it's hard still living life while her past being connected to her, with her parents being homeless and her being embarrassed of that life. If you like books that show challenge and adventures and becoming survivor this book is for you. Jeannette tells this novel in first person to establish her true feelings of how she lived and what it looked like as a child 3y
