This TL book is a great resource for young children. The book incorporates numbers, so it is a great book for children learning simple math as well. Also, as expected, with the Pete the Cat series, the illustrations are wonderful and very inviting for children. Attached are some great ideas to incorporate with the book. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.pinterest.com/amp/explore/5-little-pumpkins/ #ucflae3414sp17

HayleeM I love all of the Pete the Cat books! They are so fun and engaging for students. Great way to encorporate other subjects such as math. I love all the songs that go with them too 8y

This Narrative Nonfiction book is about the amazing story of Tony Sarge, and how he created one of the greatest parades of all time. The Macy's Day Parade! Tony had to endure lots of setbacks in the process of realizing his dream; but he succeeded. The following link gives an insight to this wonderful American tradition. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macy%27s_Thanksgiving_Day_Parade #ucflae3414sp17

I really enjoyed reading this Historical Fiction book, and I believe young children would learn so much from reading it as well. The book shares its readers the life of Rosa Parks, and the courageous woman that she was. Attached is the wiki page for Rosa Parks; as a resource for anyone interested the book. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosa_Parks #ucflae3414sp17

BrielleR I love this book! What a great resource for kids to use to learn about Rosa Parks and the Civil Rights Movement 8y

A resource for the book: https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/lesson-plans/teaching-content/knuffle-bunny-.... #ucflae3414sp17

CaitlinPVeal So far I like the way the book sounds, but I absolutely love that there is a specific lesson plan for it! When that happens I always feel like I hit the jackpot. Why did you rate it so-so? 8y
DrSpalding I own this one in Spanish too! The mixed media is well done and obviously Caldecott worthy! 8y

This F book was a very good read. It fllows Pete the Cat through a day with all of his friends. One by one, they all start to go away and this makes Pete sad. However, they were all leaving to give Pete a surprise! The first book on this website is a great way to incorporate the book in a classroom. http://mrsriccaskindergarten.blogspot.com/2013/05/subtraction-action-freebies.ht.... #ucflae3414sp17

CaitlinPVeal Pete the Cat books are always classroom favorites in the rooms I've been in. I think this lesson will capture the class. I really like everything about those post! 8y
DrSpalding Kids love them and easy yet fun math related books are welcome additions to any library. 8y
Mariachen I also read this book and loved it! I would love to have a whole Pete the Cat section in my classroom library! 8y

I am very into art and visit museums as often as possible. With that being said, when you introduced us to this book in class, I instantly knew I had to read this book. This B was an extraordinary look into the life of the late and great Jean-Michel Basquiat. It encourages kids to be creative and unique. Learn more about Javaka Steptoe here: http://www.brooklyn.cuny.edu/web/news/bcnews/bcnews_161214b.php. #ucflae3414sp17

DrSpalding Wonderful choice! I knew he was related to John Steptoe! He too, won numerous children's literary awards. 8y
LaurenMcl I enjoyed this book and the illustrations are breathtaking. It is clear why this won the Caldecott! 8y
