Girlfriends. From pre-teen to thirties. Meh. It was good in some ways, but in the end, the friendship left me cold. A lot of work over the years to maintain their relationship, and seemingly neither party got all that much out of it. Some of the scenes and moment we're beautifully written. I kept reading because I kept hoping for more.

Read this for book club, probably never would have chosen it for myself. Listened to it on audio while traveling, worked well while driving, not so well while flying. There were parts that I enjoyed, but overall it left me cold. Disappointing ending.

I have read several Rosato & DiNunzio books over the years, but I haven't read one for a long time. Reading Accused was like slipping into a pair of sweatpants and an old soft sweater on an autumn evening. Pure comfort. Loved it.

Bookzombie That's a great way to describe the feelings that some series bring me! 8y
[DELETED] 2232195534 I need to read this and the ones coming after. It's been years since I've read any of the newer books. 8y

I love Eleanor and I love Park. The book was terrific. I have one complaint about the book, but it is a small one and kind of a spoiler, so will not reveal it here. I don't read a lot of YA books, maybe one every couple of months. This one was on my list for a long time. Glad I finally read it!

AmandaL I've loved everything I've read by Rainbow Rowell. Her books (adult and YA) are fantastic. 8y

Not usually a reader of short stories, I was steered to this book by some of the Book Riot ladies. It is a collection of deliciously snarky short stories. Delightful, quick read. Share it with another woman and you will be friends for life!

Fantastic. Not at all my usual type of book. Have been obsessed since I started it. So little character development. So much science and math. I am really late to the party on this one, but am glad that I started it on that red-eye because it totally distracted me from my own discomfort.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I read this one last year and loved it. After that I read Mary Roach's Packing for Mars which was a wonderful science, but fun facts on how we got as far with the space program as we have. 8y
BookBabe I loved this book. Sooo great. Not what I'd usually read either, but I'm glad I did. 8y
MrBook A lot of folks have made similar comments. Glad you liked it, one of my contemporary favorites! 😊👍🏻 8y

Life, love, loss, growing up, falling down, wash, rinse, repeat. Good stuff. Debut novel. Will read her new novel. Childhood friends find out that life gets more complicated as does their friendship.

Well-ReadNeck Loved Dear Fang, With Love. Adding this one to my TBR list. So glad to read your review! 8y

If you love words you will love this book. If you love letters of the alphabet you will love this book. If you love the alphabet you will love this book. Delightful. Unique. Left me smiling.

ReadingMeagan Did you know a movie is being made of this book? I only found out when they liked a pic of the book on my Instagram. No idea who is in it. But I enjoyed the book! 8y
Hanje From Wikipedia: In March 2016 Gold Leaf Films announced they have optioned the film rights to Ella Minnow Pea. They are currently in the development and script writing phase and expect to complete the film in 2017. 8y

I liked this book but I got very lost at the end, which left me wanting more. Father and son on the autism spectrum are fascinating characters. The wife/mother's main quirk is that she has no hair, on her head or her body. Their lives are fascinating. I only wish the ending had been better.

RachaelTelford I had a hard time with the ending too 8y

This book, by the author of Nickel and Dimed is done with a similar premiss, but focusing on the middle class rather than the working class. Barbara Ehrenreich poses as an out of work event planner and learns about coaches, networking, and interviewing for a job market with limited opportunites.

I don't read much juvenile fiction, but I heard so many good things about this book that I had to check it out. This book does a great job of telling the story of a fourth grader who is a transgender girl. Many references to the much beloved Charlotte's Web which is the fourth grade play.

Imagineannie Really looking forward to this one! 8y

Three Wishes | Liane Moriarty

Liane Moriarty has become my go-to for "smart chick lit," and I mean that in the best possible way.

This is my least favorite of his three novels. FREEDOM is my favorite, followed by THE CORRECTIONS. We read this for my book group and I listened to it on audio, both of which affected my reading experience,

A wonderful book. I read it long ago, but it may become a rare re-read.
