Let me start by saying one thing. I have never been a fan of Elizabeth Gilbert. I am a sucker for encouraging books. I love nonfiction and people telling you how to live your life based on their struggles. I mean, live your life but learn from the stupid ish other people do to save yourself time, yeah?
This book is the bee's knees. Its a keeper.

merelybookish This book made me get over disliking Elizabeth Gilbert. 8y

Guess who is being a big ol' nerdy nerd? This girl! No shame in my reading game. I usually balance one fiction with one business or historical reference book. I have also been known to enjoy a good law textbook. What can I say? We like what we like. ;)

This was a cute book. I exoected it to be about a quirky boy, not about his parents picking up the pieces if their life, but it worked. I also love books with strong elders, and Ona did not disappoint.

jtclowest Loved this! 😍😍😍 8y
Cinfhen I wanted to hook Ona up with Ove!!! Such a great read 8y

When I notice our hotel has a library exchange, i rush to hoard books and then speed read before vacation is over.
I found this lovely dark comedy in Tangalle, Sri Lanka. I found it refreshing and I chuckled.

Oh my gosh! I couldn't put this book down. I ate it up. The characters were so clever and Alice totally kicks ass. i mean, she is fighting zombies and a mad doctor hatter.
It's still in presale, but, if you leave me a sweet comment, i can get you a digital review ARC.

Books and beaches. I got lost in this story while getting lost on Koh Rang Samleon in Cambodia.

I loved them both beyond words.

TheHeartlandBookFairy I loved that book! 8y

Not at all what I was expecting - although I don't know what I was expecting. Who has read this? I haven't seen it around much.

Alright. I'm diving in! Any book that opens with, "Well, I'm pretty much fucked," speaks my language.

Digesting taco bell after a night of tequila shots is easier than this ending.

I absolutely adore this book. I felt inspired and ready to finish my novel when I finished. I read it slowly over six months, marking beautiful pasages and rereading sentences. I cannot say enough about this book, the narration, the descriptions, and the meticulous detail of the historical tie-in. Pamuk is a unique author with a distinct flair.
