Morgenstern‘s rich descriptions and fascinating characters sucked me in. I was invited into a beautiful wondrous world and I joyously accepted the invitation. Oh to attend the circus, to taste of the cinnamon pastry, marvel at the illusionist, watch the acrobats! Better yet, to be a guest at one of Lefèvre‘s marvelous midnight dinners. Night Circus did what I never thought a book could do. It appealed to all my senses....and I was captivated.

Magnificent! A painful and yet beautiful story of war, love, cruelty, kindness and the immense strength and cunning sometimes needed for survival. Doerr is a master storyteller. His superbly crafted prose carefully weave together the threads of courage, pain, and morality into this unforgettable and haunting tale. One of the best books I have ever read. This one is not to be missed.
