This is a book about a boy who‘s little brother has a trach, that is a tube in his throat to help him breath. His family is just him, Levi, and his mom. His dad left them with no notice. Timothy was put on house arrest for a year for stealing when all he was trying to do was help his mom to get money for a surgery for his brother. If you like books that deal with some real life struggles that some people deal with then this is the book for you.

MrsBabki I loved the format of this book - a novel in verse can tell such a powerful story. 5y

#3 This book is about “George,” who was born as a boy, but has always known that she was a girl. “George” goes through the process of self-acceptance and becoming more comfortable being who she really is as Melissa. The genre of this book is contemporary fiction, written for a middle school audience. If you like books that talk about the reality some young people face as they accept who they truly are, then this is the book for you!

MissYaremcio I love this review Ashlyn! It sounds like such a good book! 5y

This book is about a girl named Claudia who realizes that her best friend is missing. Claudia begins to put the puzzle pieces together to realize that her friend has been neglected and abused in her home. The book starts out slow, however, the suspense grows and the pace builds until the surprise ending comes and hits readers right in the face. If you like books that deal with real life struggles, then this is the book for you.

Cfischbuch I‘ve been meaning to read this. Your review reminded me to put in on my list. Thanks. 5y

MissYaremcio Oh this sounds like a very interesting book! I will have to add it to my to-read pile! Other than the missing capitals, this is a very well written post! 5y
Cfischbuch I loved the very unique perspective of these girls. I felt this book was a real eye-opener, it really made me think about what that would be like. 5y
