Good one! Makes you think about life and if each man really is the maker of his own fortune. The story is set in Turkish prison in the 18th or start of the 19th century. Ivo Andrić describes life and society in prison, including inmates, guards, even clerks. Social habits didn't change much since then...

Serbian classic. Strong and mixed feelings after reading this one. It is about life of a dervish, who lives life by God's laws but his life takes an unexpected turn when his brother gets imprisoned. He tries to help his brother and then society shows it's true face, letting his naivety and innocence die painfully, which makes him feel dissapointed and he discovers hate. It is weird how life can escape from us if we don't make a right choice.

2. I am thankful for my best friend Saška and for every moment she makes me laugh🥰

Would you like to play ?

1. In my country, Serbia, we don't celebrate Halloween the way western cultures do but lets say this one will be different because I am finally loving myself and feel comfortable in my own skin so I can choose bolder costume 😊

2. I am grateful for having my parents by my side 🥰

I made myself traditional turkish coffee and started reading. And then I read this:
"I am forty years old, an ugly age: one is still young enough to have
dreams, but already too old to fulfill any of them."
I hope that is not true. I love dreams. But I also like this book for now. Oh, and I am reading serbian version. Sounds much better in original language.

I liked the style of writing and first half of the story, but second half was slower and, in my opinion, little bit boring. I don't regret reading it, I just wish it was as intresting as first half the whole time reading it.

When I first read it I thought it was boring. But as I grew older I gave it a chance. Turned out... I was Just too young to understand it. Great book.
